Lasting Addiction Recovery

Effective Addiction Treatment

The treatment of drug and alcohol addiction is very complex. It’s not enough to just look at a person’s addictive behavior. The behavior, such as abusing drugs or alcohol, is not a cause of the addiction, but merely a symptom of some existing or unresolved issue in his or her life. Successful addiction recovery requires that the root cause of the addiction be determined and resolved. To accomplish this, the treatment is much more sophisticated, and takes much longer, than most people realize.

Most addicts, in desperation or due to impatience, usually turn to a “quick-fix” solution. Short-term programs may work for a brief period of time, but they rarely have a lasting effect.

Effective addiction treatment, the kind that results in life-long sobriety, cannot be achieved by short-term programs. To expect a person with a history of addiction to turn his or her life around and maintain sobriety after only a few months of treatment is simply unrealistic.

In the struggle to overcome addiction, the only meaningful objective is lasting, life-long sobriety.

The Welcome Home Result

Each graduate of the Welcome Home program, is restored to how they were before using drugs. More importantly, the underlying cause of their addiction will have been identified and appropriately resolved. And while they overcome their addiction and rebuild their lives, they learn and adopt a whole new lifestyle — the very key to maintaining sobriety! They emerge from treatment having improved physically, emotionally, intellectually, socially and spiritually, and with career opportunities. Most importantly, they are equipped with the skills they need to live successfully without drugs and alcohol for the rest of their lives.

That is True Recovery!

Lasting Addiction Recovery Takes Time

To maintain sobriety, it is essential that addicts adopt a completely new lifestyle. This takes time. Research over decades has repeatedly shown that there is a direct relationship between the length of time in addiction treatment and the ability to stay clean and sober. There is no short-term cure for long-term addiction.

To be free from addiction for life, it is crucial that a person with a history of substance abuse remain in treatment for at least 2, and up to 5, years. Any shorter period of time will almost certainly result in relapse. In addition, the program must include a tested and proven addiction treatment method.

Proven Addiction Treatment Method

Therapeutic communities, such as Welcome Home, combine a long-term program with a proven addiction treatment method. As a result, they are by far the most successful in treating addiction.

These residential “life-skills” academies develop and strictly apply comprehensive addiction programs that are designed for the needs of each individual. Programs are balanced between addiction recovery, personal growth and career preparation. All aspects of addiction and healthy living are addressed.

There are no compromises.
